We watched Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Two very wet films!
Tom Hardy is at his most soaked in this movie. Just constantly damp. We also learn about the two distinct types of symbiote compatibility. Regular and Va-voom.
Next week, we’re watching Polite Society, a film which takes place across two radically different versions of reality.
We watched Deca-Dence, an anime about how capitalism is… bad???!?! Did they do this on purpose, or did they just copy the Matrix?
Half the characters are funny little Doraemon guys and half the characters are humans in a society on the brink of collapse where their suffering is made consumable for entertainment by the masses. Fun!
Next week, we’re watching Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Hope y’all like goop!
We watched Incredibles 2, A sequel that came out about ten years after everyone stopped caring about the Incredibles.
How does the family sitcom-meets-superhero film formula hold up more than a decade later? Isn’t it ironic that an indestructible superhero is actually the most fragile man alive? What ARE Brad Bird’s politics?
Who cares about any of that I’m too busy staring at that thicc pixar ass.
Next week, we’re watching Deca-Dence, an anime that asks the question ‘What if the gaming entertainment you enjoy came at a tremendous human cost– oh wait a minute.’ Recommended viewing is all of it I guess because Devon never gave me the episode list so we just watched the whole thing.
We watched Little Women, and surprisingly, not the anime adaptation that apparently exists.
This movie is a WRQ ally, in that it says that comphet endings are bullshit. There’s also a girlboss and a malewife who get together, a scarlet fever enthusiast, and Bob Odenkirk! This movie has it all.
Next week, we’re watching Incredibles 2, a movie that folded all the prions in my brain into funny little pretzels.
We watched House MD, a show which proves that we will always be haunted by the presence of Sherlock Holmes for the rest of our lives. With special guest Scott (Tumblr | Twitch)!
Everyone in this show is so toxic, and frankly it’s pretty entertaining.
Next week, we’re watching Blazing Saddles! A funny movie with two bestest frontier friends and a whole lot of slurs.
We read Hunters Unlucky by Abigail Hilton, a book about how all the characters all have a breeding kink so bad it literally causes a war.
We’re getting cancelled for this one folks, because we love the big gay war criminal cat, and the cullings he does on a rival species. In his defense and ours, those guys suck shit big time.
Next week, we’re watching House MD. A funny workplace comedy about the worst hospital imaginable. Recommended viewing is episodes S2E7, S3E10, S4E12, S4E15-16, S5E4, S6E10, S8E19, and S8E21-22. The pilot, S1E20, S5E16, S6E11, S6E16, and S8E20 are extra credit.
We watched Sk8 the Infinity, a show which makes the bold claim that ollies are for the homosexuals.
Two boys meet, and bond over their love of skateboarding, and it’s all downhill from there (because you see there are downhill races that are largely centered in the conflicts of the story).
Next week, we’re reading Hunters Unlucky, a book about a gay war criminal who can’t read.
We watched JJ Abram’s masterpiece, Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
Truly Reylo is one of the all-time great love stories. Like that one that Shakespeare did. They’e callin’ JJ the Shakespeare for straights. May the forced heterosexual tension be with you.
We watched Wednesday. And boy I sure wish we didn’t. (that’s not true I love to get mad)
They really went and made a show where the lead has zero chemistry with any of the other characters. Arguably, there’s not even a central shippable couple. Also it’s homophobic.
Next week, We’re watching the Sk8 the Infinity. The App Monsters of skateboarding. Recommended viewing is episodes 1, 2, 7, 10, 11, and 12, with 6 as extra credit.
