We returned to JRR Tolkien’s wild ride, with The Two Towers. A book where almost nothing exciting happens, but gosh darn it, we still love Samwise so so much.
I’m gonna be 100, I don’t actually remember too much of what happens in 2 Towers. Gollum shows up. Helm’s Deep happens. Sam and Frodo made me cry. That’s probably all the important stuff, right?
Next week, we’re covering Land of the Lustrous. Recommended reading is volumes 1-3 of the manga, with volumes 8 & 9 as extra credit. What if Steven Universe had a lot of body horror, and also contemplated how messed up it would be if you were immortal, and also at one point all human sapience in the universe is permanently eradicated.
